The player part of the AlbumPlayer plays the tracks from the playlist. The following image shows the player controls as shown when the default skin is selected.

Starting at the left side, six switches are shown. You have to click on the switches to switch on/off. The switches have the following functions (from left to right):

  • Equalizer on/off. Switching it on also makes the equalizer visible. See Equalizer and Replay Gain.
  • Normalization on/off. Replay Gain values are applied to the volume level. See Equalizer and Replay Gain.
  • Crossfading on/off. Tracks crossfades at the end of a track with the next track. See Crossfading
  • Playlist shuffle on/off. Tracks from playlist will play random. See Shuffle and Auto DJ.
  • Auto DJ on/off. Tracks will automatically added to the playlist from database. See Shuffle and Auto DJ.

Next to the switches the player controls are located. The buttons have follwoing functions (from left to right):

  • Next Track. The player skips to the next track.

The next button, having the stop sign is the ban this track button. If you ban a track it is immediatly removed from the playlist and it is not longer automatically added to the playlist. It will only reappear in the playlist when the track is selected from the alum info track list or from the search results list and then put into the playlist.

The blue playback info area contains the following items:

  • Now playing track. The text is configurable from the General page of the preferences dialog.
  • Spectrum analyzer.
  • Track progress. Click on the counter to let it count down.
  • Track rating.

The album and track rating can be changed by pressing rating button. An overlay image appears above the playback info area, showing the album and track rating. Change the rating by using the plus/minus buttons or click or drag the stars.

Last two controls are the volume slider and the progress slider.  With the volume slider AlbumPlayer volume is controlled. With the progress slider it is possible to jump to different positions in the track.
