Extracting audio CD's

The AlbumPlayer supports CD-extraction. This function can be started by choosing Extract CD from the Settings/Database menu.

The following dialog comes up

The dialog contains the following sections:

Encoding
Contains drop down list with encoding formats. Some formats are working immediatly after AlbumPlayer install, but other formats needs to have a (freeware) encoding executable placed in the AlbumPlayer installation folder. The following encoding algorithms are supported:

Bitrate
The field either contains a drop down list with bit-rates or quality levels in case of variable bit rates.

Start Extracting
This button starts the extraction process of the tracks. Important: The files are extracted to the folder specified in the preferences page: Extract Location

Besides extracting through the extract dialog, there is also a process through the album editor. When an audio CD is inserted in the CD drive, it is detected by the AlbumPlayer and the CD is added to the database if not already in. To extract the CD, choose Edit in the album info panel to open the Album editor. In the track list of the Album editor the tracks are shown which are on the CD having a .cda file extension. Below the track list there is a Extract CD Tracks button which opens the Encoding Settings dialog for the target files to write on disk.
