In this preferences page you can set the desired audio device by the
AlbumPlayer. Sound Device Choose from the drop down menu the desired audio card to be used by the
AlbumPlayer. You can also choose an audio card by a command-line option. See
also the command-line option device. ASIO Sound Device (Audiophile
settings) ASIO Support Enabled ASIO channels Control Panel ASIO buffer size Reread Driver Settings Note: When ASIO support is enabled, all DSP functions, equalizer and
normalisation is disabled . Also crossfading can not be activated. This is the
only way to achieve "bitperfect".
For audiophiles
it is possible to use an ASIO driver. When enabled the windows mixer is bypassed
and it is possible to play "bitperfect". The normal audio driver is disabled.
You can toggle ASIO also with a shortcut key. See also preferences page Key assignments. Choose an ASIO
device from the drop down list.
From this drop down list
you can choose the channels to use supported by the current ASIO device. The
channels are organised as stereo pairs. The last option in the list selects all
channels to be used, which makes it possible to play multi-channel audio.
Using this button the
control panel of the current ASIO driver will be shown. This does not work for
all ASIO drivers in that case no window is shown and you have to manually start
the control panel.
You can choose
preferred ASIO buffer size here. Settings can be done within the limits given by
the ASIO driver. Sometimes the upper limit and lower limit is exactly the value
specified in the ASIO driver control panel, so it is not possible to change it
from the AlbumPlayer preferences. In that case change the buffer size at the
ASIO driver control panel and press the button Reread Driver
Settings.
Use this button
when changes are made in the ASIO driver control panel and you want to apply
them in the AlbumPlayer.
