Where can I get the full version of V6.5c?

People using V5.3 and below are used to having a different installer for the demo and the full version. This is not the case for version V6.5c. V6.5c uses a new license system. You can just simply download the demo version and unlock it. You can download latest version here.

General questions

I want to add videos. What do I need to know?

To have smooth running videos you have to setup codecs properly. You best install K-Lite codec pack: k-lite. It is advised to disable WMF playback, it sometimes causes stuttering.

What is the best way to organise my music on disc?

To have your albums easily added to the AlbumPlayer without a lot of user action, the best is to put the tracks of each album in a seperate folder on disc. Then tell the AP to use your folder structure to determine "what is the album". Even when your have a well tagged music collection!.

Why should I use my folder structure to determine albums. My files are already properly tagged?

When the AlbumPlayer add albums, it goes through 2 steps. First determing albums then adding additional information from the tags. File tagging is from the old days, track oriented and not very album friendly. Even though the AlbumPlayer dialog to add new files states album folders as recommended, users still choose to use their tags. Please don't be afraid to use your album folder structure, your tags will be applied anyhow in the next step, but then the albums are already well formed.

I invested a lot of work in my collection. What should I do to keep it safe?

The AlbumPlayer keeps the database and all that belongs to it in one folder. By default this folder is C:\AlbumPlayerData. It is a good habit to regularly copy this directory to a safe place. You might also use the backup function in the AlbumPlayer but actually it does the same with one exception, it leaves out the cache folder. The cache folder will be automatically rebuild by the AlbumPlayer. So the AlbumPlayer built-in backup is only a bit more efficient.

I have a new computer I want to move my database, what should I do?

By default the database is in C:\AlbumPlayerData. Copy of C:\AlbumPlayerData in full to the new computer. In general when you put the albumplayer back in the same position and your music on the same file location, you can just install AP on your new PC. Then after that you should start it. Upon start it will ask the database location, direct it to C:\AlbumPlayerData. When your music is in same location as on your old computer, it should work again. But if drive letter or folder changes of the music then you need to redirect the file locations so that the AlbumPlayer can find the files again. You do that from the file menu in the collection editor. There choose "redirect files to new location". See more info in the online help.

I bought V5.3, it came with several skins I cannot find skins for V6.5c?

V6.5c doesn't have different skins. Only Piano Black touch is converted and included in the installer. At this moment it is unknown if new skins will follow.

I get an error while starting the AlbumPlayer, it tells me: Error initializing audio! (error code 0)?

Error initializing audio (Error code: 0) message is shown when the AlbumPlayer can't find a default sound device. Please check in the control panel of windows if a sound device is available and set as default.

I use USB audio, but hear all kind of clicks.
